2024 Piston Run - 3rd place
Here we go again Round 3, good start but the classes were released with small gaps between them. We caught the class in front of us immediately and the slashing began, lots of yelling and I edited out where Congo lines were boring to watch.
Ended up third place after getting passed on last lap. 1080P only to capture most the race go pro cut out on last lap halfway.
Shout out to @coastalenduro for his second win! Lets Goooo!

2024 Chuwels Challenge - 2nd place
Переглядів 409День тому
This was a great race, I managed to get 2nd place in Senior Am and had some good struggles along the way. To start off, I got the Holeshot with @coastalenduro (who ended up winning) right behind me, we got about 5 minutes in and hit a bottle neck, I lost about 5 positions when I tried to go right around it. I came into timing in 3rd place for lap 2, but fell back again a couple positions but ul...

First race of the season held in Squamish! Had a good start, arm pump creeped in slipped back from second to fourth, made a mistake on lap 2 and 3 on a simple hill climb that really mucked my day up and went back to 8th, made up two positions and rolled in sixth out of 24. Got some work to do. Had my camera on and off where there were jams ups and we weren't moving and forgot to turn on most of...

The season is here, bike is ready, I'm almost ready. Headed over to a sweet spot and rode some technical terrain mixed in with that loamy dirt which made for some fun riding. Here are a few snippets.
Mercer ride
Переглядів 266Рік тому
See the colours change on this early fall ride up Mercer. This peak is around 5600 feet and has some pretty stunning views. There was a forest fire to the east which is under control now, a few days ago there were no views to be had. We took an alternate route up which had a challenging creek climb section. TPI ran great and it's nice not having to deal with jetting changes.
September Update; Squealing Pig Race
Переглядів 516Рік тому
Quick update on the bike, changed the bars out and had to replace the chain guide as the stock one is really poor quality and bends easy. I noticed this right before my Squealing pig race, as the chain ate the stock sprocket due to the guide being bent. I installed a TM Designs chain guide and new Dirt Tricks sprocket I included small amount of footage from the PNWMA race, it was a total dust b...

Great ride! And congrats on 3rd place! Nice work on the holeshot as well.
Thanks Dude, appreciate it!
Awesome ride , you made it look easy..
Vern you found me! Nice meeting you last weekend man, hope to see you out at future races!
Good to see you and Matt up on the podium again. You made the course look smooth where it definitely was not! Nice riding!
Nice work Craig.
Thanks dude, hope you're healing up well!
@@SingleTrackTherapy might make an appearance at bar bender!
@@DNF_enduro I hope to see you there man!
Great run Craig!! Once you clear the traffic you were just flying. "Im coming for you dude!" HAHA, YES! love it.
Your starts are amazing dude. Oh man I love seeing these perspectives where a guy is pulled over for you then see where i bump into that guy etc. Well done.
It amazing how chain of events can shape a race for someone.
Great ride man. Well done!
Nice work Craig. After watching "Old Matthew's" video I realized that you are way to nice in you passing. Get an small canister airhorn on your bars and blast your way through. If you didn't get hung up on a couple of bottleneck, it would have been real interested to watch both you and Matt battling it out head to head with your smooth riding style against Matt's I'm just going to smash through this. Young Matthew, haven't seen your video yet, got to check that out as well. Great riding folks. I will be off the bike until the fall, so I have to enjoy the riding through your vids, so keep them coming.
Ha ha, 100% I am going to glean some of his assertiveness! Sorry to hear you are taking a break, I hope you can find something positive out of it!!
I must have watched that holeshot 10 times already 🤩. Great smooth riding. Awesome to watch you reel them all in after that bottle neck. And to get second place on a flat tire 🤯
How sweet was it we went 1 2, cant wait for this weekend to race with you again buddy!
The 1-2 punch 👊. Wicked comeback 💪
Oh man that was fun to watch and pick out stuff I recognized trying to get a sense of where I was at the time. Gratz on your podium wish I could have stuck around and supported that moment. See you at the next one.
Lets get up there at Piston Run bro!
Nice riding Craig, smooth as always. Congrats on the podium finish!
Thanks Matt!
Where's your video, how did it go for you?
@@SingleTrackTherapy Just posted now. Had a decent start and made some passes, but that middle rock section beat me up good. I feel like my cardio needs a lot of work.
@@stanbarry Cool I'll watch now, Good! Get to work young man

@@SingleTrackTherapy hey you guys pre-riding again ! :)
@@thesmoness haha just wanted to dip our toes in the terrain, I had never ridden there before, course isn't laid out as of Tuesday.

damn that was a blast!!

I’m an old man don’t you know?
I enjoyed watching. I hope you post more races this year.
Hey Kelly, Yes gonna do the next few see if I can get up on that box! Thanks for tuning in.
Looks like a mtb trail
Damn, that looks easy. Very nice riding very well done.
Its a beauty of a trail right now, Fred did a bang up job on it
No doubt, Trail looks to be in fantastic shape.
@@Coastal-rsidedown How was your guys DS ride?
Was good fun. Rode with Fred up Stave Lake area, then headed to the island. Rode to Port Renfrew, then up to Lake Cowichan. A little more pavement than I would have liked. Next time, I will try a different route up to Cowichan or possibly up to Nitnat.
Like butter 🧈
Great ride man! Well done.
Smooth riding 🤩
Ha, I watched the guy at 4:48 go off the cliff.
Oh crazy man, I was like “what the hell”
Hello from alaska great ride brother, is this a stock class race? Do you have the option to be able to change your gearing via a sprocket change, you sound like your bike is running in the low bottom end as your going threw the trees, this causes less gyro effect at low ground speeds, if your able to add a couple teeth to your wheel sprocket an remove a tooth on your motor sprocket, this will bring your gearing up in ratio to be able to provide greater management an control in tight courses, and doing the opposite for more open courses. Goodluck
Thanks for the tips, yes i lug my bike to often, gearing is fine I run 13/52 I just get lazy and lug it sometimes
Dirt looked perfect!
Striving to shred like you dude!
Oh wow you had a fast start man...watching now.
I didn’t record you passing me but I heard and saw the 350, you passed me on MX track and I just never could catch you, you had that 350 lit.
yah you were running well and in second for a long time. I was hoping to catch sight of where I caught up to you but I guess that didnt make it on video. At one point you said you think you have "Russ" in front of you but I wasn't one of the two bikes in sight anyhow. I love having all these perspectives of the same race and class.
@@thesmoness yes so at that point I got a glimpse of your black kit and the bike but I could not get to you.
@@SingleTrackTherapy ah yes I took the low line on the berms.
Great work, that was a punishing course. Especially that new loamy trail section just beating relentlessly on your arms and shoulders.
You made that look way too easy. Nice riding!
You could rail it, seen you ride, would love to ride the whole thing clean!
Mr 2nd Gear leveling up 😮
is this in canada?
Yes
Thoroughly enjoyable trail that. Now edit up Eighties Child
I can't edit out the amount of fail I had on that. You breezed up it.
Trail looks to be in great shape. For whatever reason I don't think I have rode that trail in that direction, always hit it the other way. Must try!!! Nice riding, I was not able to ride on Sunday, torn / pulled my calf muscle and am hobbling around like I need a walker.
Shit sorry to hear J. It was quite dry in there, I really like this trail probably a top 5 for me. I don't ride here often but found a few gems on Saturday!
That was well ridden.
What a sexy track!! Good work
well done. Hitting the races this season?
Hi Dude, yes, I only got one in last year (SP), so going to hit Cat Scratch and Piston Run this year, how about yourself?
@@SingleTrackTherapy yah planning on it. Sticking with Sen AM to start see how it goes
@@thesmoness Same, I am close to getting into that top 3 but have yet to do it, getting old haha
You make it look so easy
Which gear you use for Weasel rock ? Maybe next time I should play there for the afternoon
I tried second but first felt better, I run 13/51 gearing
@@SingleTrackTherapy i m running factory TE’s, 2nd feels too fast, 1st too slow, especially when riding on left narrow path to towards that rock. Maybe it was my problem. 😅
Making it look easy! those are some gnarly rock features. Great riding!
Some quality lines there 👊💥🔥💪
Do I hear a Rekluse on your bike?
I bought the bike with it installed yes, pulled it out shortly after as It felt like it was robbing power.
That is the worst feeling in a race, doing something stupid, dropping the bike, wasting all your energy just to end up behind the pack. Brutal. Cat Scratch 23' was like that, except dry and dusty.
Good video ❤😊
Out of curiosity at 3:00 what gear are you in?
Sounds like second to me
Where in BC is this if you dont mind me asking? Im tired or riders gatekeeping trails, like cmon we are supposed to be a community. I'd gladly share my trail information from my area to anyone who asks.
This trail is located between Whistler and Pemberton, I was given a tour and couldn't find it if I tried, we almost reached Sootip Peak, if you get savvy and use google earth you may see where FSR's turn to trails

I’m not tryin to be mean or nothin but there were definitely some spots where u could’ve shifted down
For sure, I was either too tired or just punished the clutch, the 300 lugs decently.
